The majority of fuqaha’ are of the view that it is mustahabb to do the marriage contract in the mosque, and they quoted as evidence for that the hadeeth: “Announce the marriage and do it in the mosque and beat daffs for that.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1089), but it is da’eef (weak) – except the part about announcing the marriage – as al-Albaani said in Da’eef al-Tirmidhi<\/em>. <\/p>\r\n It says in Majma’ al-Anhar<\/em> (1\/317): It is mustahabb to do the marriage contract in the mosque, and to do it on a Friday, but they differed as to whether it is makrooh to hold the wedding party there. The best view is that it is not makrooh if it does not involve anything that is detrimental to religious practice.
